Q:  What if it rains on Learn To Row Day?

A:  The event will be held rain or shine.  Rowers don’t mind getting a little wet occasionally.  But, if weather conditions are severe, it’s possible that the event will change somewhat.  For instance, in the event of thunderstorms, most of the event will be held indoors and on rowing machines with guests being encouraged to come back another time to try out a boat.

Q:  Do I need to register?

A:  No.  Registration is not necessary.  We will have lots of volunteers available to accommodate all guests during LTRD.

Q:  Do I need to be available to be at LTRD the entire time ?

A:  No.  Arriving promptly will ensure the most expedited experience, but people can arrive at LTRD at any time during that morning span.  Generally, guests will get a thorough experience in 45 to 60 minutes.  But, if interested, some will stay longer to discuss the benefits of rowing and other aspects of the PVRC program, etc.

Q:  Is it really free?

A:  The LTRDs are our version of an ‘open house’ to share our sport and life passion with others in our community.  There are no obligations of the participants other than connect with us and have a good time.  If a participant wants to row in the future, he/she will be instructed on how to sign-up for lessons and register for a season of rowing.  This information is available at www.pvrowing.org.

Q: If I’ve come to Learn To Row Day before, can I come again?

A: Of course, we would enjoy seeing you again. We are always open to sharing our activities with folks who are interested whether we’ve met them before or not. For instance, if you happen to be an avid indoor rower on a machine in a gym or you are a ‘cellar dweller,’ we’d be happy to see you at Learn To Row Days and help give you some tips that you can incorporate in your future efforts.

Q: What if I can’t make your Learn To Row Days in June? Do you hold any others later in the season?

A: While we currently don’t sponsor formal Learn To Row Days after June, there are several ways to learn more about the sport and/or try it out. You can sign-up for lessons or contact us to meet you at a session and have us share with you some details about our programs.
